Yaiba is a tall and relatively handsome, despite his attractiveness he gives no true heed to the tidiness of his hair. His clothing consists of his favorite armor, which he wears at all times and only takes off to wash. His armor is a brown leather vest with golden patterns on the chest and chain-mail under it. His lower body is similar to his vest, long leather pants with Chain-mail under. He feels very uneasy when he does not have it on. The scarf he had around his neck is mearly to protect his face when he travels through a village, hoping not to be recognized due to the dark rumors surrounding him.
He had the tatoo of fairy tail put on the palm of his right and left hand.
His eyes are dark green, his hair a dark brown and messy all the time. His build is well toned yet compact, his body has many scars in many places, caused by countless battles, one such battle gave him his somewhat well know nick name. His armor also holds a few scratches and cuts, to which he patches up with the most of his ability yet they still remain.
Bio
Personality: Yaiba is a very smart man, he is also very insightful because of his many experiences in his travel. His prowess in battle is slightly accredited to his intelligence and his ability to quickly analyze a situation. He is also fun loving and he greatly enjoys talking with people. Despite this he doesn't carry many friends, he does not wish to involve anyone with his problems, but if anyone in the guild is in trouble, he will jump to help them even at the cost of his life.
Likes: Relaxing, talking with people, His armor and blade, fellow good mages,
Dislikes: Evil mages, Dark Guilds, Patching up his armor
History: Yaiba does not remember his childhood. long ago when he was 14 he chose to fight with a powerful dark mage. This mage was the leader of a powerful dark guild and this mage was also the killer of his parents. He fought this mage and in the battle, instead of killing the young Yaiba, the dark mage cast a powerful illusion spell which caused him to lose his memory and go into a coma for three months. The reason the evil mage chose not to kill the boy was because he saw power in the young child and had great hopes for him in the future, either the child would become a great foe who would be a great challenge to the mage, or he would bring the child into his clutches once his power was realized.
Yaiba was found by a family of two and was nursed back to health, immediately after his strength returned he left, taking with him the items he fought with against the evil mage. Of course he did show his gratitude to the two people who cared for him.
The items Yaiba carries belonged to his mother and father, the blade was his father's and the armor was his mother's. They gave the items to Yaiba as they died, and even though Yaiba cannot remember this he still cherishes them greatly, knowing they are very important to him.
From the time that he awoke from his coma he had traveled the world, hoping to find some way to regain his memory. The rumors surrounding him tell him as a ruthless and invincible killer who has wiped out entire villages. This of course was spread by a bystander who misunderstood a situation when Yaiba was protecting a group of injured people kidnapped by an evil mage. The aftermath of the battle was him standing over the defeated body of the mage, the bystander thought Yaiba was the evil mage and the man defeated was the good mage. This caused many hardships for him, including a fight that nearly killed him. He had fought with many mages and warriors of great power. He gained the nickname Fumetsu Yaiba (Undying Blade) from a battle with a powerful mage who had nearly killed him, leaving him with countless scars on his chest. Despite his injury he defeated his foe and gained his nickname, to which his now uses as a substitute for his forgotten real name.
He came across the guild fairy tail, he heard it was a guild filled with powerful mages and he hoped that one of them could return his memory, so far, no luck. He joined once the master of the guild promised to help him as much as he could, now he is currently working, for every job he completes he gives most of it to the guild and to needy families or less fortunate men on the streets, taking only enough to live off of. He lives currently in the guild, mostly keeping to a quiet little corner.
Yaiba greatly admires the guild master, he sees him as a father figure and finds it an honor to just work for the man. Yaiba however had no knowledge that the guild whos leader had robbed him of his memories was in fact the dark guild who had waged war with Fairy tail.
Yaiba is quite powerful for his age, hes considered a C-class mage. Which is even more impressive considering his low number of equipment.
Magic
Mage Class: Ex-Quip mage
Unique Attack: Blade Storm - This attack utilizes his armor to the extreme. He sacrifices every increase of his abilities to supplement his his speed, strength and stamina to attack his foe with great strength, enough to sunder armor and shatter swords. While also attacking with such great speed that he exceeds the eyes ability to follow him. Yet this attack takes a toll on him, for moving with speed a human should never achieve and striking with strength muscles cannot handle, he runs the risk of causing great damage to his body. So he rarely uses this attack and when he does he only holds it for a few seconds.
(Will learn more as he collects more items.)
Items for Mage: The armor he wears is one he's always had for as long as he can remember, it's name is Za Yosutebito (The Hermit). While the protection it gives him is no different from normal clothing, its special power is an overall increase in his physical abilities, such as speed, stamina, strength, reflexes, and all of his five senses. These increases are not superhuman, yet it is enough to make his fighting ability rival a great number of mages. It also carries an ability which makes him even more of a threat, he can trade in the increase of and ability an fortify another physical ability. An example would be to sacrifice higher strength and stamina for an great increase in speed and reflexes, same goes for his other abilities but each use drains the user of his energy greatly. The most he can pull off of these changes at the moment are 5 times a day, then he requires rest.
The blade that he carries on his back is a unique item as well, it's power is near indestructibility. This blade has survived for past a millenia and has only one scar, the scar on the blade extends from the tip all the way down to the guard. It's name is Senzai Ken (Millennium Blade) The knowledge on what damaged this blade has long been lost. This blade also has a second ability, high resistance to magic. This resistance is so high that it can cut clean through a fireball. But the blade carries with it a drawback, for every time this blade contacts something magical, a small portion of his energy becomes drained.

Notes: Wings of Pern hosts several Weyrs, four at the moment (Crystal Cavern, headed by Mittens, New Cove, belonging to Squid, Talune is Onyx's territory, and Eden is Desert's oasis), each with it's own special assortment of non-canon colors. Currently we're in need of... um... a lot of stuff. We've not been open long, after all.
What We Have, and Can Offer: - Most of us are active, and the ones who aren't don't have long before they're kicked out, so we don't have inactive threads and characters floating around. (Unless they give us a warning, anyway.)
- A very cool plot, but uncomplicated and it's easy to follow. (Will post below). It leaves open plenty of opportunity for your character's backgrounds.
- Everyone is very nice, and we don't mind helping out newbies. Ask a question, and you will get a polite, at the very least (some of us are too friendly sometimes xD) answer. If it's not polite, then let someone know! 'Kay?
- Lots and lots of open positions, including at least one Weyrwoman, several Wingleaders, and lots of other random positions (Head Woman, Head Cook, Weyrling and Candidate Masters, ect.). Well, we do have four Weyrs to fill, plus more yet to be made... Plus there may possibly be Mod positions left.

Plotline: When mankind first discovered Pern, many a turn ago, they colonized a single continent, known as the South Continent. Thread drove them away from there, to the harsher climates of the North Continent. To fight the parasitic organisms that fell from the sky, eating anything that wasn't stone, metal, or water, mankind developed a creature, resembling one of myth from their home Terran. The dragons. Bonded telepathically to their riders, and with the help of a phosphorine rich rock, they could breath fire, and so sear away the Thread. Above and beyond even this great ability, the dragons could fly, and teleport, meaning that they were capable of going anywhere on Pern, and maneuvering quickly while fighting the Thread. To be a dragonrider meant to leave the life you had lead before, to show utter dedication, and to live among other riders.
As time passed, man forgot their origins, struggling to with the battle against their foe from the Red Star. Those who were not riders of dragons, held land and Hold, or made the essentials for life in Halls. Those who weren't dragonriders tithed to the Weyrs, to show gratitude for the dangerous work they did. Until a long interval occurred, much longer than ever before. The red star did not return at its scheduled time, and so turn after turn with no Thread falling, the dragonriders seemed to become obsolete. Tithing slowed, and nearly stopped, respect for those of the Weyr vanished. It was they who were called parasites instead of the Thread.
But luck would have it that one Gold and her rider knew different, were determined that Thread would soon fall again, and that they had to be ready. At her side a Bronze, larger than anything before him, and for some time after. It was they who made it possible to survive when the Thread fell once more, and it was the Gold and her rider who discovered the ability to time as well as teleport.
With the dragonriders in good standing once more, turns came and went, and again, with time passing, came another change to Pern. The dragons were mutating, their colors ranging away from Gold, Bronze, Brown, Blue, and Green. Endless possibilities came, some dragons having adaptations to their bodies, giving them a specialized task, others seemed smarter than even the riders at times. With the mutations on Pern, it seemed that nothing could go wrong.
Then once more misery struck, this time in the form of a Plague that took all of Pern by surprise. It killed thousands, riders, dragons, holders, any and everyone seemed to be at risk. Only by a miracle did anyone survive, and with numbers depleted harshly, the future looked grim.
By now both the North and South continent were occupied, though many Weyrs turned up empty, as did Holds and even Halls. By chance and chance alone, a young queenrider made a mistake in her destination while going Between. She had been going to the nearby Hold, hoping that perhaps the Lord there would have news for her, only to find herself in an entirely new place. The East Continent was discovered. The East Continent was more wooded, heavily so, almost as if a tropical forest occupied most of the land, with three large volcanoes, each long dormant, but perfect to make Weyrs in. The soil was rich, and many of the plants already growing were edible or of value for medicinal purposes. The East Continent was soon colonized, and three Weyrs were built there.
In the North, four weyrs were struggling to survive and slowly managed to get a meager grip on stability. The South fared similar, with three Weyrs of its own. It is here that we begin, Pern overcomming a terrible plague, a new land discovered, and endless possibilites, dampered only by the fact that The Red Star is hanging in the sky, and Thread will soon fall.
