Sphinx has azure blue-hair that's of middle length. The hair on his back is shorter than the ones in front, but are layered. His face is covered by a long bangs that hides the right side of his face. A long streak of hair also runs down the left side of his face, the length equivalent to his bangs, which stretches a bit past his chin. He has a pair of steel-gray eyes, both always sharp and penetrating. His skin is fair brown. A tribal tattoo runs down the entire length of his right arm, starting from the shoulder, stretching all the way down to his middle finger. Around the base of his neck, he wears a black collar with runic markings on it.
On top of his body, he wears a fitted black shirt on top of his fairly muscular upper body. His six pack abs are completely visible even with his shirt on. On top of his vest, he wears a black trench coat that has a large collar. The collar covers half his face from the nose all the way to the base of his neck when it's zipped up. The trench coat itself covers his entire body, all the way down to half his shins, near his ankles. The trench coat has no designs, save a small crucifix embedded on the right sleeve. The crucifix is golden colored, and looks like it was embossed.
On his lower body, he wears slightly loose, black cargo pants. Around his waist sits a black leather belt that secures his pants. The belt itself is specially designed with multiple sockets to hang satchels with hooks or store small items. On both knees, a metal plating with a crucifix on the faceplate is worn. Around each foot are black socks, and he wears a pair of black combat boots with a metal plate on the front, around the toe area.
Also, Sphinx's shadow is a little distorted. During the nighttime, his shadow completely vanishes, as if melding with the darkness around him. Even when you produce a light, or fire, Sphinx has no shadow during the nighttime. During day time, however, his shadow is always beneath his feet, regardless of the position of the light. In terms of carrying weapons, he usually keeps them inside his trench coat. Most of the time, he keeps his trench coat zipped up completely, even when wearing an armor. The trench coat itself is interesting enough, as it automatically adjusts to the size of his clothes.
Weapons:
Description: These gloves are what Sphinxellar wears all the time. They are made of a black materia that seems to emanate with unending darkness. Even though its soft and flexible, the gloves are extremely durable, and weighs nearly as heavy as a sword. Being the disciple of Melcheezar, Sphinx is well-versed in hand to hand melee combat, thus he was given these pair of gloves for use. Under the sun, these gloves don't shine nor absorb any form of light. During combat, the gloves give out a dark glow whenever it lands a strike or blocks an attack. Aside from being able to function as a blunt-force weapon, the gloves themselves have no other effects.
Effects: None. Just a regular, fist-type weapon.[/ul]
Items:
Description:[/u] The very black trench coat draped around Sphinx's body is magical in itself. It adapts to the size of the user's clothing, still covering his entire body as if its of the same size. Also the trench coat keeps Sphinx's slender appearance despite wearing anything bulky, retaining the form of its wearer completely. The trench coat also has another feature. It can store items in its pockets that would otherwise not fit in an ordinary pocket. Sphinx has been known to store umbrellas and swords inside his trench coat during missions, and strangely enough, it doesn't slow him down. The trench coat, by itself, does not increase the defense of the user, but it allows a maximum carry load of 2 items, and each item must not exceed a combined weight of 60LBS.
Effects: Retains form; Adapts to clothing; can keep an inventory of 2 items that weighs 60LBS combined
Name: Black Umbrella
Description: A plain, black umbrella that Sphinx keeps inside one of his trench coat pockets. The umbrella is an effective way to produce shade under a hot, sunny day, and light enough to carry around. The umbrella weighs exactly 2LBS.
Effects: Keeps sunlight and rain out of its confines, just like any good umbrella. NO magical, combative, or defensive effects.[/ul]
Bio
Personality: Sphinx is, most of the time, silent and anti-social. He would mingle with people once in a while, but even then, he would still be rather quiet. He speaks what's on his mind regardless if he will hurt someone, and will do things "for the greater good". In fact, if he deems it necessary to abandon the mission "for the greater good", he will not hesitate to do so. He is also extremely strict and tolerates few things.
His notion of greater good is extremely understood only by himself. No one can even get close to guessing what he means by the "greater good", but it seems to revolve around saving people, and preserving the balance of life and death. But again, no one truly knows aside from Sphinx himself. However, one thing is clear. No matter the situation, Sphinx will always follow what he things is "for the greater good", regardless if his superiors agree with it or not.
In the guild, Sphinx usually stays in dark places, dark corners, even the closet if there's no dark place in sight. He keeps to himself and likes to bask in the solitary confines of the shadows. However, he still mingles with the guild every now and then, that is, when people are sane enough to talk to him in places where only his steel-gray eyes can be seen. Also, a dark, and cold aura emanates around Sphinx whenever the clock strikes midnight, making anyone near him to unconsciously leave him alone.
On a free day, Sphinx is seen roaming around the guild, buying white wine every now and then, along with a big serving of Ramen, then eating at a far corner, where there is little light. Being attuned to the darkness, he dislikes too much sunlight, preferring to travel underneath shadow, or even an umbrella (when there is no shadow present). He always make it a point to carry an umbrella with him just in case he travels a desert or a place where there is little shade.

History: Sphinx was born an orphan, his parents killed by the rampage of the dark guilds. He was then found by the dragon of dark, Melcheezar, who was wandering around the skies to pass time. The dragon took pity on the boy, having observed what happened to the boy's parents. Through the use of the dragon's gigantic claws, he grabbed the boy, gently placing the crying baby on his gigantic palm.
Melcheezar flew towards his home in the southeastern mountains, past the kingdom of Fiore, where he raised the boy by himself. He gave Sphinx his name, which supposedly meant "riddle of the stars", and taught him dragon magic of the element "Dark". Ever since he was a boy, he showed exceptional affinity with the dark magic, as if he was destined to use the dragon slayer magic. Melcheezar looked pleased, even though one day, he knew that he might have to fight Sphinx. He didn't gave it more thought, and instead proceeded to giving the boy all the knowledge he knows. He also taught him the big and clear difference between Good and Evil, and how he must not stray from the path of the good, insisting that the boy always judge the situation carefully and no matter what, must always do everything "for the greater good". This lesson was among the things that Sphinx followed with all his heart. Despite the dragon's dark countenance and dark magic, it seemed it valued the ways of the light, something completely unexpected from the Dark Dragon.
After 18 years, Melcheezar suddenly left Sphinx while he was sleeping. The reason was not known. When the dragon slayer boy woke up, he was extremely surprised and baffled at the absence of his mentor and father. He frantically searched the mountains, and neighboring villages, desperately searching for the father figure who nurtured him when he was little, and raised him into a strong young man. He was crying a lot, his footwear extremely battered, and his clothes ragged. He has not slept nor rested in his search.
On one of his searches, he reached the Kindgom of Fiore, arriving at the town of Magnolia. He was, by then, extremely exhausted. He didn't know what to do or where to go. All he knew was Melcheezar was nowhere near to be found. His consciousness faded as he hit the cold, damp concrete road of the town. Rain poured endlessly that day, and the light of the Sun was nowhere to be seen. Its as if nature herself was mimicking what Sphinx was feeling deep inside.
When he regained his consciousness, he found himself lying on a soft bed. He was in a room of sorts. It was a peculiar room he's ever seen in his entire life. It plain looking, with wooden furniture, simple table, four wooden chairs, and pretty much, just a typical room. He stood up, looking around, trying to see where he is. To his surprise, he saw a massive painting with a peculiar design. He was somewhat familiar with the design, as if he saw it recently. Out of curiosity, he explored the room, and found that it was indeed a small house sitting on top of a small hill inside the town. The house looked pretty shabby, but its not half-bad. It took him a while to settle down, and then remembered his ordeal. He looked for his shoes and clothes, but all he could find was a black trench coat and a pair of black combat boots. He rummaged around the house for more clothing, and the best he could find was a pair of black pants that's a little loose. Without even asking permission, he wore the pants, donned the trench coat, and strapped in the combat boots.
Pretty nice. He thought to himself, giving a silent smile.
Seeing as no one was in the house, he looked around town, half asking for who owns the house, and the other half, asking about any dragon sightings or something to that effect. To his disappointment, no one knows of any dragons in Magnolia, nor in Fiore itself. But he did gained information about the house. Supposedly, it was owned by a mysterious mage who vanished several days ago. He was surprised when he learned that the mage vanished on the day he collapsed. He was even more appalled to know that he's been knocked out for more than two days. With the mage gone, and no information to the whereabouts of the dragon, Melcheezar, he decided to roam around the town.
He stopped by a large, castle-like structure looking straight at the entrance of the town. It wasn't the size nor the location of the structure that caught his attention, however. It was the insignia. He remembered the painting in the house he woke up in, and it was exactly the same. For the first time, there was a light expression on his face, as if he's found something exceedingly good. As he approached the entrance of the structure, he saw a large sign saying, "FAIRY TAIL" plastered across in neat lettering style.
Fairy Tail He thought to himself.
He remembered one of Melcheezar's lectures regarding the real world, and how mages join groups called 'Guilds' to perform jobs and the like. He also remembered the dragon saying that Mage Guilds are the best source of information in the entire world. It was a sign of hope for the dragon slayer. He'd know the mage, and he'd also get information regarding Melcheezar's whereabouts.
He joined Fairy Tail as soon as possible. There was almost little effort on his part, but he did not care. After joining, he immediately proceeded to gathering the information he needs. However, to his disappointment, there was nothing he could find out about Melcheezar. Instead, he learned that the mage who helped him was named "Eleazar", a powerful Ex-quip mage who disappeared several days ago after taking a job. Sphinx looked extremely worried, and so he undertook jobs which he can perform, trying his best to reach the top ranks so that he can take up the job "Eleazar" was on, hoping to find the missing mage, and along the way, find information regarding the whereabouts of Melcheezar.
As a dragon slayer of the dark, Sphinx practically revels in darkness. His eyes can see through even the darkest of the night, when there is zero-visibility for other mages and people. His senses are attuned well with the dark energies, enabling him to detect dark magic at an instinctive level, no matter how minute the magic is. Because of this, he is usually seen undertaking jobs that are associated with tracking dark magic users, and night missions, and to some extent, subduing dark mages.
To date, he stays in the guild as an Observer, usually sitting someplace solitary and dark. He usually stays in the guild most of the time, only going home every once in a while when there is nothing better to do, or most of the guild members are taking up jobs. He now resides in Eleazar's home, keeping it well and neat. He's also gotten acquainted with Fairy Tail's members, and has finally gotten used to the constant in-house fighting, drinking, and everything in between. However, he still looks forward to finding out where Melcheezar and Eleazar were, hoping to find them by doing more and more quests.

Magic
Mage Type: Dragon Slayer
Elemental Affinity: Dark
Spells:
- Spell Name: Dragon Force - Kuroyanagi [Black Willow]
Level: Greenhorn
Range: Self
Description: The user's body and clothing becomes covered in an extremely dark shade, making him completely like a shadow, making him almost immune to dark. The user's skin will also looks like scales of a dragon in this form. Also, several runic characters appear around Sphinx's arms, glowing darkly. Last until cancelled.
Drawback: Makes the user more vulnerable against their opposite element while active. - Spell Name: Kokuryuu no Yari [Black Dragon's Spear]
Level: Greenhorn
Range: Self (spear weapon); short ( 3 meters range of impaling attack from initial release)
Description: Sphinx causes a dark spear to form from any part of his body, impaling in a single direction, and giving him a useable weapon. A long, dark rod made with darkness with a massive arrow-head tip on one end with jagged, razor blades is formed as a useable spear weapon. The weapon allows Sphinx to increase his attack range to 6 feet, which is the entire height of the spear. At night, the spear increases the damage it deals by 10% by absorbing the dark energies, making the tip vibrate, which increases penetration. The spear is exactly 3 meters in length.
Sphinx can dissolve the spear at will, before the spear expires.
Drawback: When the technique is used, it cannot be used again for two posts after the spear has expired. Also, the spear can only be used for 5 of the user's post. While the spear is in existence, Sphinx cannot use any other non-Black Dragon weapon. - Spell Name: Kokuryuu no Yaiba - Mouretsu Tatakai [Black Dragon's Sword - Raging Clash]
Level: Greenhorn
Range: Short (in front of him; approximately 3 meters); Mid (Nighttime; from melee range to a maximum range of 10 meters)
Description: Sphinx forms a dark blade from one of his hands. He then proceeds to performing multiple stabs in the area directly in front of him using the blade he formed. This is more effective at night, and therefore, has double the power. The stabbing strikes has enough striking power to penetrate regular armors, and repeated hits against walls can crumble them. During nighttime, the swords absorbs the dark energies in the surrounding, allowing for harder and faster hits.
Drawback: This requires Sphinx to be empty handed, and once used, the technique cannot be used for 3 of the user's post. Also, a side effect of this move is that Sphinx will be unable to use another Black Dragon Technique (anything with "Black Dragon" in its name) for 1 of the user's post. However, existing Black Dragon Technique effects remains for their respective durations. - Spell Name: Kokuryuu no Hada [Black Dragon's Skin]
Level: Greenhorn
Range: Self; Close (touching)
Description: Sphinx can imbue his skin with a thicker layer of dark energy, making him look extremely darker. Also, because of the nature of his dark skin, it becomes extremely corrosive, allowing Sphinx to corrode physical objects that touches his body. This gives Sphinx an attack bonus of 20% (reduced to 5% if opponent is 2 ranks higher than Sphinx; increases to 40% if opponent is 2 ranks lower than Sphinx).
The corrosive factor of his body allows him to also lessen magical damage he receives by 25% (magic that are of equal rank to the user; 50% for magic that is of lesser rank than the user; 10% against magic 1 rank higher than the user; no effect against magic 2 ranks higher than the user).
Drawback: This technique can only be used twice per mission, and has a cooldown of 8 of the user's posts after the buffs expires. The buff stays for 5 of the user's post. Once the buff expires, the user cannot use Dragon Force - Kuroyanagi [Black Willow] for 1 of the user's posts. - Spell Name: Kokuryuu no Meichuudan [Black Dragon's Straight Shot]
Level: Greenhorn
Range: Short-Long (effect range of at most 50 meters)
Description: Sphinx can shoot 6 dark materia bullets from his hands, traveling at high speed. Each bullet elongates, and transforms into a javelin-like, dark materia spear that impales the target. During nighttime, the bullets travel at a much faster velocity (twice the normal) and has increased mass, doing 30% more damage than when used during the day.
Drawback: Because of the stress brought out by releasing the projectiles, Sphinx cannot use this ability for 3 of the user's post. Also, The user cannot use Black Dragon Techniques for 1 of the user's post. He must also remain stationary when using the technique, otherwise, his accuracy drops to 50%.
