Type: Poison History:
The poison type magic was created by a Dark Guild, one of the cruelest of their day. Developed more as a means for torture than straight killing, many of spells were adapted for drawn out battles. Each poison making the opponent weaker and weaker as the battle wore on. The most difficult problem that arose for these people were the lack of a method to deliver the poison in battle. Many had taken to using swords or spears with which they could use to coat their weapons.
This forgotten Dark Guild eventually self-destructed due to their power hungry minds. The most dangerous of these guild members, father of Poisons, was the last man standing after the guild fell apart. He traveled the world teaching those worthy of the secret of poison magic, until the day he died. One of the few pieces of advice he gave them was of secrecy, poison magic was dangerous and feared by many. The magic created by assassins must remain as shrouded in secrecy as it's creators, the Dark Guilds.
Today, many poison Mages continue the work that their forefathers started. Mainly used by dark guilds, for assassination assignments or interrogation, they are as feared and secretive today as they were in their past. Dark Poison Mages are often viewed as the cruelest of the Mage types, while the few good are known for their skill at subduing opponents without killing. Poison designed to kill has been lost in this day and age, kept hidden and protected in the minds of the oldest masters of poison magic. If the secret ever fell into the hands of the young, they would make sure it wouldn't spread far.
