Basic
Name: Maximus Champion Deathbomb The Second
Nickname: Ren
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Level: Greenhorn
Guild: Fairytail
Description
Height: 5' 4''
Weight: 117 lbs
Appearance:
Ren's frame is small for his age. It is his opinion that experimenting with ancient time magic stunted his growth, but he is actually just small. His facial features are mostly soft, but he has two red markings down the sides of his cheeks, causing him to stand out slightly. His hair is long for a boy, and strangely a silvery white colour. The clothes he wears cover nearly all of his body, and are fairly baggy. He keeps them baggy because he often wears a light set of armor, and prefers to hang his clothes over the armor.
Weapons: Rod of Ages
Level: Greenhorn
Description: Picture. This long weapon serves the dual purpose of amplifying time magic out of combat, and functioning as a handy sword in combat. The top of the staff has an extravagant circular design centred around a lacrima suited for amplifying magic power. Ren can focus his time magic into this Lacrima and expand the area his magic can affect. For example, his low level spells can affect items and smaller objects, but this staff would allow him to amplify the area and affect a house. The top of the staff also functions as the hilt of the blade. It can be withdrawn from the rest of the staff, and become an equally fancy sword. The rest of the staff is made from strong wood, and serves as a sheathe for the blade.
Drawback: Channeling magic into this staff takes a fair amount of time, so it cannot geneally be used in combat.
Price and Availabiltiy: Unique item for Ren, given to him by his master.
Items: Heart Kreuz Armor
Bio
Personality: Having spent most of his life living alone with an old hermit, Ren is out of touch with regular society. Quiet at times, sometimes talkative, and fiercely competetive, he has yet to develop a set role with his peers. Just as he is unused to large groups of people, he is unused to cities and the regular customs within. His sense of direction in cities is extremely poor, as he has never had to follow streetsigns and roads. It is in the wild, in the forests, he is at home. He hunted for his own food for yeas and has grown adept at tracking and sneaking up on things.
His feelings toward Fairy Tail are mixed. His father was a low level mercenary in a dark guild that was crushed by Fairy Tail, so he still feels the pain of having his life and his family ripped away from him. Despite this, he understand that dark guilds are problems that need to be dealt with. However, understanding and emotion are two very different things. Now a part of Fairy Tail himself, he means to develop a better understanding of the guild and the people within, and perhaps change a few of their bad habits from the inside.

History: The story begins with an exuberant mercenary from a dark guild called Maximus Champion Deathbomb. His real name was of course not Maxiumus Deathbomb, but he had taken it on during his youth, and it suited him so well that nobody doubted it since. Maximus was a very rowdy sort of fellow. He always had to be the loudest, the meanest, the toughest, and was always getting into trouble. Somehow this obnoxious man managed find a woman, and the two of them reproduced. Max the second was born. However, the woman wasn't one to be tied down by a child so she promptly left.
Despite his faults, anyone who knew him knew that Maximus was a good father to the best of his rather lacking abilities. He was not interested in many of the normal facets of parenthood, but was ecstatic to have a mini version of himself running around, kicking ass just as hard as he was. This was his greatest joy. Max was trained vigorously from a young age in all sorts of weapons and techniques; he could swing a sword before he managed to get that tricky soup spoon into his mouth. (Maximus specifically designed a tiny sharp edged sword for him to play with.) As the boy grew, it turned out he did possess some aptitude for fighting, as much as any young child could, and was sparring with his father as soon as he was able.
The boy's childhood continued like that until he reached a point where he could think for himself, and began to wonder about things other than ice cream. At the age of six, Max wondered why nobody seemed to like his dad. He was finally old enough to tag along on some of the easier missions, and Maximus brought him at every opportunity. But Max didn't like these missions. First they would go to an angry, uncomfortable, or perhaps downright mean stranger, who discussed some business with his dad. Then they went to find some people who always seemed to be angry or sad, and they would spar with his dad, but nobody ever had fun. Afterwards, everyone was left unhappy except for the first mean stranger.
Like any child would, Max got pouty and threw temper tantrums whenever they would go out on jobs. Maximus was inept at dealing with these outbursts, and he was busy with work, so he often just left Max alone and finished the job. But that didn't quiet Max. He would wander around and find some more people to complain to. This was a dangerous pattern. One day, Max complained to a member of Fairy Tail. Of course the guild member got completely riled up and sought out the dark guild with his team. The team crushed the dark guild along with half a block.
So Max was left alone. His father was in the hospital, driven off, or in prison, and the Fairy Tail member was busy getting scolded by the master. With nowhere else to go, Max went back to the rubble he used to live in. He waited for a while, not knowing what to do. Nobody came. It was just a crushed dark guild in a broken slum. He picked up a half charred leg of his favorite teddy bear and sat down. It was getting late. Nobody came. He fell asleep.
When he woke up he found that his teddy bear was completely fixed and he was wrapped up in a blanket. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, the boy looked around for the cause. An old man was walking away. The man stopped and looked back. "Tch. He woke up." The man grunted, before increasing his speed and hurrying away.
Max didn't know what else to do, so he followed the old man. He was led out of the city and into the forest. As they delved deeper and deeper, Max became less worried about what the old man might do and more scared of the forest. He inched gradually closer to the old man, until finally he was tugging on the back of his shirt. Apparently annoyed, the old man blurted out, "What the hell do you want!"
Max's hand shot back to his side like a bullet, and he took a step back. He opened his mouth to talk, but he couldn't think of anything to say. Confused and afraid, the boy's mouth started to twitch and tears welled up in his eyes. "Fine, do whatever you want." The old man said before walking away again. Max looked around, but he didn't know where he was. He followed the old man.
They approached the old man's little shack, and the man had no choice but to let the boy stay the night. The next day, Max still had nowhere to go, and the old man didn't have the heart to throw him out. In this way, the child became a permanent resident in the old man's shack. The old man's name was Ren, and he was a master in the ancient magic Arc of Time. Ren was kind of a hermit, and didn't have regular contact with society, but he eventually grew to like the boy who was living with him. He absolutely refused to call the boy by the name Maximus Champion Deathbomb The Second, but he was an uncreative old bastard who didn't meet many people. He named the boy Ren, after himself. For the second time in his life, Ren was living under the name of his father figure.
Years passed, and both Rens had a lot of fun together. They studied magic, competed to see who could hunt the biggest animals, and read books. Eventually however, the boy knew he had to leave. He couldn't remain a hermit the rest of his life, and he needed to resolve his past. The goodbye was not tearful, but the was an air of tension and awkwardnes that couldn't be ignored. The old man gave Ren his old armor and favorite staff, and he headed out to join Fairy Tail.
